The lyrics are handwritten by Sr Flavio and under each line, you
can see the English language translation. That, is the
handwriting of Mick Jones. Tomas Cookman, co-manager of the band
and Sergio Rotman, flew from Nassau to Atlanta in the middle of
the recording sessions of "Rey Azucar" to record the ex Clash
member as he was on tour with Big Audio Dynamite and had a free
night.
"Flavio had given me the lyrics of the parts of the song that he
wanted Mick to sing. At the studio, he asked me for the
translation. He wrote his translation under Flavio's lines. After
the session, I kept the lyric sheet - and as you can see, I still
have it. " (Tomas Cookman) |
